In conjunction with Outside Bike and Brew, join this slow and easy bicycle ride through
time and space. We love trails and so, perhaps not surprisingly, the focus will be on the history of transportation in our area: We will focus on 20th Century alignments including the original (pre-1937) Route 66 “Mother Road” and old rail lines that operated in Santa Fe up to the 1940s. Of course we would be remiss to leave out Santa Fe’s three official National Historic Trails (El Camino Real, Old Spanish Trail, Santa Fe Trail) which date to previous centuries.
Given the importance of all of these alignments to local trail planning, this tour is also being offered as a “Study Ride” for GUSTO , the community-based planning effort to create a “Grand Unified Trail System.”
As we get closer, more information will be posted here and at http://outsidesantafe.com/
