“Ribbon-Cutting” by Councilor Bushee

Dozens of local cyclists gathered at the top of the City’s new “Flow Trail” to celebrate the completion of this one-way bicycle trail.  After some brief remarks from Tim Rogers of SFCT, Pat Brown, President of the Santa Fe Fat Tire Society, and Brent Bonwell, who spearheaded this project on behalf of SFFTS, Councilor Patti Bushee, Chair of the Bicycle and Trails Advisory Committee performed a ribbon-cutting by means of a bicycle.

A wide variety of cyclists descended the trail once or twice and then re-convened an hour later for pizza donated to SFFTS by an anonymous source.  SFCT arranged the event and set up drinks and the pizza on a table at the top of the trail.  The weather, view, and eventually the sunset were perfect at “Junction 6.9” for the occasion.   Thanks to everyone who came by, and we’ll see you on the trail!  Thanks especially to Logan Bonwell for putting together a great video clip of the event.

Trail riff-raff comes out of the woodwork for the event.
